Pet Services

Find the right services for your pet

As a pet owner, chances are that you'll need to enlist the aid of a pet service eventually. Whether you need someone to walk, watch or groom your pet, there are many options available to you today that may not have existed even a few years ago.

Pet ownership is on the rise in North America. With more baby boomers becoming empty nesters and younger couples opting either not to have kids or to have them later in life, family pets are filling the void of children in the home. People today are also working longer hours and have less time to walk or train their pets. Pet services help pet owners deal with these modern life issues.

Pet Sitting

If you're going away for a few days and can't take your pet with you and you'd rather avoid using a kennel or cattery – pet sitting could be the perfect option for you. Pet sitting fees generally include feeding, walking and companionship for your pet while you're away. The added bonus of hiring a pet sitter is that they can also collect your mail, which helps deter thieves from targeting your home.

Pet Grooming

Pet grooming has to happen regularly, regardless of the type of coat or breed. Grooming helps minimize shedding, skin problems and even bad breath for your pet. Grooming a pet is also a great way to discover health problems that may otherwise go unnoticed. If there just aren't enough hours in the day for you to handle the grooming yourself, you can take your furry friend to a pet grooming salon. Mobile pet grooming services are also gaining popularity and offer the added convenience of coming right to your door.

Pet Training

Do you have a hyperactive, anxious or aggressive pet and you're not sure what to do? You can learn about pet training online and try your best with potentially mixed results, or you can learn directly from a pet training expert. The main advantage to taking a pet training class or course is that you'll have real-time feedback. Every pet has its own little quirks, so having specialized training from a pet instructor will make it easier for you and your pet to learn exactly what is expected in your relationship.

Other Pet Services

Other services that you need to get acquainted with include veterinarians or animal hospitals in your city. This ensures that your pet will receive adequate and timely care regardless of the situation. Animal shelters are also a great place to find a new pet, or to send a pet that you can no longer care for.

Greetings, I'm trying to find a local place of business where they do the yearly rabies shot for pets without going to a vet. Usually they'll have signs posted throughout the neighborhoods stating when and where. I've recently move to another zip code and have been unable to locate one and bcause of it my pet missed there shots last year. Can anyone assist me in how to find a local location?. I live in the 29445 zip code your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

We decided to try raising lambs for the first time this year so we got 3. So far we only have 1 lamb that has magots, however the magots are not eating the wool they are on the skin area at the moment. We heard that we need to do a dip but we are not sure what kind of dip is needed because we are not sure what kind of flies the magots will turn into because we have notice some new types of flies in the area. so far i gave her an iodine bath which has seemed to help so far because it is making the magots drop off. We are wondering what kind of dip would be best for this situation?

Did you think of asking a vet.??

When I walk my chorkie, he gets tired real quick and thirsty. His poop gets like diareah by the end of the walk. Are these things normal?
Posted by pets4life on July 05,2010 at 08:34 PM
that does not sound normal, try walking slower and shorter distances also try bringing water with to give him/her. If it keeps up try taking your dog to the vet.

My sister and her husband are in their 80's. There daughter is ill and has left 4 kittens 16 weeks old, litter train and eats dry food. They are on a very limited income, is there a possibility of someone to come and pick up the kittens to be adopted. They only want a place where they will be adcopted. They are off Pruneridge in San Jose.
