Dog Beds

The best beds for dogs of all sizes

Pet owners love to pamper their pets, and nothing says pampered better than luxurious dog beds. They come in all sizes and can either be therapeutic or just plain comfy. For pets with joint problems, a thick padded, pillow bed can be a much better alternative than the floor, but even dogs without physical problems often prefer their dog beds to their owner's beds.

Dog beds come in various shapes, patterns and colors. Finding the perfect bed to match your room decor or personal style is easy because there are so many types to choose from, including whimsical animal themed dog beds, sophisticated solids and prints or even designer dog beds.

Choosing the Right Dog Bed

There are several aspects to consider when choosing the right bed for your dog. Size is important. A bed that is too small will be uncomfortable. Big dogs obviously require very large dog beds, and these can take up a lot of floor space. However, if you keep your dog's bed in your bedroom, you can slide it under your bed for daytime storage. If your dog is a digger or likes to chew (especially when it's a puppy), look for a dog bed that has a slip covering. This can zip shut to allow for ease of replacement without having to buy a whole new bed, and it will keep your dog's bed from looking ratty or worn out.

Beds for Dogs with Special Needs

An older dog with dog arthritis, painful joint problems or a bad back will benefit greatly from a variety of orthopedic dog beds. Many orthopedic dog beds are made with memory foam that helps provide extra cushioning and protection for sore joints and bones. If your dog has dog allergies, there are allergy dog beds made from fibers that won't aggravate their condition. In some cases, even pet owners with allergies will find having a dog bed made with such materials a great relief.

Dog Bed Care

In most cases, your dog's bed can easily be cared for with simple vacuuming or pet hair removing tools. When they do get dirty from outside mud or dirt, it may be necessary to wash the dog bed. Some smaller beds can be put directly into a washing machine, but be sure to read the tag or materials that come with the bed to be certain it is washable. Some leather covered dog beds can be wiped clean and are good choices for dog owners who have dogs that get muddy while playing.

Happens to all of us dog owners who care, we have to buy a dog bed. Our pets may have taken over the couch, even the bed but even though you enjoy cuddling with your dog you should get a bed -- a place where your dog can rest. I've found a web site that's got any amazing selection of dog beds, mats, outdoor dog beds, and dog crates. At you're sure to find the perfect bed for your dog, old or young. They'll help you find what you need, they are very friendly & helpful. And they have a price guarantee and the best prices on designer brand name beds that I have seen.
